HEC Advisors
Data Protection Statement

Data protection and security are important to HEC Advisors GmbH and all of its subsidiaries and related companies (“HEC Advisors ”, “we”). This Data Protection Statement describes how we collect and process your personal data when you visit our website, register for updates, or use our services.

COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal data we collect and process in order to make our websites available

You can visit our website and obtain information about our services without telling us who you are. As with any connection with a webserver, however, the server of our webhosting provider logs and temporarily stores certain technical data. Such data includes the IP address and operating system of your device, the date and time of access, the website URL you visited, the type of browser you use and the geographic region from which you access our website. This is required for technical reasons to make the website available to you. To the extent we, thereby, process personal data, we do so based on our interest to make our website available and bring you the best possible user experience.
You may need to provide limited personal data in order to receive certain information and services from us. For example, the following services require that we collect certain personal data about you:

News Subscription

You can sign up for news by email or order publications in printed form where such service is provided on the Site. Only basic personal data, such as your name, country of residence and email address, are needed for registration.
For verification purposes as well as for the purpose to confirm your consent, we will send you a confirmation email immediately after you have finished the registration process. During this process, we may also store your IP address and the date and time of registration. The personal data collected as part of your registration will be used for sending you our news and/or printed publications.
Our newsletters contain tracking pixels which enable log file recording for statistical analysis of our newsletter campaigns. We may see whether and when an email was opened, and which links in the email were activated. We may use email marketing service providers for achieving the purposes described. We, our group companies, and our service providers only process your email address for email marketing services.
You may opt out from receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by contacting us via email or by following the unsubscribe link or instructions in any email we send you. Please note that responding to your email may take several days.

Contact Form and Emails

You may use a contact form (where provided) in order to ask questions about us or our products and services. When using the contact form, you will be asked to provide personal data such as your name, company name, job title, email address, phone number and a message you want to deliver to us. You may also contact us by writing us directly via email where we have provided a specific email address. We may use such information based on our legitimate interests to get in touch with you or to reply to your message.

Social Plug-Ins

Our Website may contain links to external social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter. You can also share the content of our Website in social networks. This Website uses a secure sharing tool that establishes direct contact between social networks and users only when users click on one of the appropriate buttons. This tool does not automatically transfer user data to the operators of such platforms. When users are logged in to one or more social networks, the use of social buttons for Facebook, Twitter, etc. will cause an information window to appear, allowing the user to confirm the text before it is sent. The user can share the content of this Website in social networks without their providers creating a profile of the users’ surfing behaviour.

Cookie Policy

In addition to our privacy policy, this cookie policy describes how cookies are used in connection with this website and how you can manage your cookie settings.

What is a cookie?

When you visit a Website, cookies may be set on your device or information may be retrieved from previously set cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device. Cookies collect and store certain information for a certain period of time to ensure the functionality of the Website and to make your visit more comfortable (e.g. by remembering your preferred settings). Cookies also help to better understand how visitors use the Website. This allows us to continuously improve the Website and its usability, and to provide visitors with more relevant information, including personalized advertising.

How can you manage cookies?

Cookies help in many aspects to make your visit to our websites easier, more pleasant and more meaningful. Cookies are information files that your web browser automatically stores on the hard drive of your terminal device when you visit our website. Most of the cookies we use are "session cookies". These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until they are actively deleted. The latter result in recognition the next time you visit our website.
Please note: If you reject cookies used for advertising purposes, you will receive less advertising that is tailored to your interests, but you will still be able to use the Website to its full extent.
Alternatively, you can either generally deactivate the setting of cookies in your browser settings or set your browser to block cookies from certain domains. These can typically be found in the "Internet Options", "Tools" or "Settings" submenu of your Internet browser. The procedure for disabling cookies may vary depending on the browser. We would also like to point out that changes to the settings only affect the respective browser. If you use different browsers or change the terminal, you may have to change the settings again.

Analytics Services on this website

For the purpose of analysing, optimising and operating our online offer, we use the analytics services of third-party providers described below. Analytics services usually work by setting cookies. You can deactivate the cookies by adjusting your browser settings as described above. For effective prevention of analytics services, you should make adjustments on all devices used.
Facebook
Facebook is a social network on which users can create a virtual profile about themselves and network with other users. Facebook uses cookies to collect information about your user behavior and your interests on our website. This user behavior includes, for example, whether you have visited this website before or which subpage you have opened. Facebook may be able to link this information to your Facebook profile. Facebook receives this data regardless of whether you interact with the Facebook Plug-in or not.
The operating company of the services of Facebook is Facebook, Inc. 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.
For more information and the applicable Facebook privacy policy, please visit https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.
Twitter
Twitter is a microblogging service and allows registered users to spread telegram-like short messages, so-called “tweets”. Through the integrated components of Twitter on our website, Twitter can receive information such as the website you visit, your IP address, browser type, operating system and cookie information. If you want to learn more about the information Twitter uses, you can read about it in their privacy policy https://twitter.com/en/privacy.
Twitter is operated by Twitter, Inc. 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA.
LinkedIn
LinkedIn do not associate with individual members or visitors the data generated by passive impressions of their “Share on LinkedIn”, “Follow Company”, “Autofill” and “Apply Starter” plugins. They discard this data when it reaches LinkedIn and only retain the IP addresses, time, device, and browser information for security, fraud prevention, and traffic management. Please note that “passive impressions” refer to when a user does not interact with a plugin, but merely visits a page with a LinkedIn plugin button on it. When a member chooses to interact with a plugin (e.g., shares a news story on LinkedIn, follows a company or autofills a form), this “active impression data” is retained in order to deliver and improve the related services and personalize the experience.

We and process your personal data responsibly, as necessary for the purposes set forth in this Data Protection Statement or otherwise communicated to you, or in accordance with applicable laws.
We apply adequate technical and organizational security measures, commensurate with the level of known risk, in order to protect the confidentiality and integrity of your personal data.
